As part of the HCA Foundation's serve, lead, and support model, the HCA Foundation supports local nonprofit organizations with connections to HCA employee volunteers. Corporate HCA employees receive volunteer leave time through Caring for the Community to serve in the local community during the work day. Recently, the HCA Foundation partnered with Teach for America to support students on Global Youth Service Day. Forty HCA employees spent their Friday morning at Cameron College Prep to help with ten different service projects. From tutoring students to renovating the school courtyard, HCA employees worked alongside student leaders to make Cameron College Prep a more engaging place to learn. Twenty 8th grade students participating in a goLEAD program, facilitated by Teach for America, learned how to address community needs and applied their learning to impact their school on Global Youth Service Day. The signature project for Global Youth Service Day was a courtyard renovation project designed by these 8th grade students to leave a legacy at Cameron College Prep.Take a look at a few photos below to see volunteers in action and student impact!
