The HCA Healthcare Foundation’s Middle Tennessee Fund, established in 1997, supports area nonprofits addressing community concerns related to basic needs, primary care, health and wellbeing, education and the arts. This fund prioritizes support for organizations with strong, authentic relationships with HCA Healthcare colleagues, most often reflected through board-level involvement and volunteerism.

The Middle Tennessee Fund considers grant applications from 501c3 organizations located in Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Rutherford, Cheatham, Dickson, Robertson and Sumner Counties.

New applicants must complete an Applicant Inquiry Form and receive approval from Foundation staff before applying.

2025 Funding Considerations

The Foundation prioritizes consideration for organizations that meet the following criteria:

  • Registered as a 501c3 for a minimum of three years
  • Minimum annual operating expenses of $250,000
  • Based in and primarily serves Middle Tennessee
  • Existing relationship with HCA Healthcare, most often through a board member or recurring HCA Healthcare volunteers

Capital requests are considered at the Foundation's Q2 and Q4 board meetings. Please contact Foundation staff for more details on capital application requirements before submitting a request.

All 2025 grant application deadlines have passed. The Middle Tennessee Fund’s 2026 application deadlines and corresponding board meetings will be posted in mid-December 2025.

Funding opportunities are no longer available in 2025. Agencies are still encouraged to submit Applicant Inquiry Forms to determine their 2026 eligibility for support.
